Ergohuman Chair Review: Unique Features
- Single lever adjustment for seat depth, height, and tilt is very convenient.
- Adjustable backrest height
- Adjustable headrest
- Armrest can pivot, is height adjustable, can move forwards and backwards.
- Back tension control easily controlled by a knob
Aluminum Base and Sturdy Frame
Not all chairs come in an aluminum built. Aluminum is light and sturdy which is definitely a plus of owners! The sturdy frame also looks classy and stylish and doesn’t have that cheap plastic look.
Customizable Tilts and Rests
Most gamers would want to recline a bit after a stressful ranked game. Fortunately, Ergohuman does just that thanks to its sturdy 3-position tilt-lock mechanism. Moreover, if you want more flexibility to your chair, Ergohuman also features a tension control adjustment so you can control the amount of force the back rest will exert on your back. Personally I prefer to set the tension close to maximum, but that’s because I have a bad back and needs a bit of extra lumbar support.
Multiple Adjustable Parts
There’s no one-size-fits all when it comes to gaming chairs – the best gaming chairs will have multiple adjustable parts from seat depth to armrests. Fortunately, Ergohuman does this in a two-fold manner:
By allowing you to make subtle adjustments in the seat depth, tilt, and height through a single lever, you have more options for incremental changes which make all the difference when you play games for long periods of time. The backrest is also adjustable, offering 4 height positions. This gives way to adjusting the dynamic lumbar support so it can firmly support your lumbar area.
Lastly, the Ergohuman also features adjustable armrest height in multiple preset positions. You can also pivot the armrests and position them forwards or backwards – superbly adjustable. This helps prevent carpal tunnel syndrome on any other kind of repetitive strain injury (RSI).
Multiple Design Choices
This chair has been in the market for quite some time, but did a complete redesign back in 2011, to have a more contemporary look. It still has the same features though, so it’s still a solid chair.
The Ergohuman chair comes in a multitude of options – you can choose from blue, green, red, or your standard black. This gives you options to match your chair with your gaming setup. The actual build also looks classy enough to fit any gaming or office room.
Mesh is not for all
Mesh is good for people who sweat a lot during intense matches or when you live in a warm area as the pores allows for air circulation. However, seating for too long on a mesh back might be uncomfortable for some. There are other Ergohuman models with a fabric seat and leather finish however, so you may want to take a look at that.
Hefty price tag
This is such a high-end chair (feature and build-wise) that it comes with a hefty price tag. You might want to look elsewhere if you’re looking for a budget chair without the bells and whistles and does the job.
Our Two Cents
The Ergohuman mesh chair is a great overall gaming or office chair. With multiple ergonomic features coupled with a great design that fits any room design, it’s simply one of the best options out there. The price tag might be a bit discouraging though, and this is definitely not for the budget buyer. We hope you took away something from our Ergohuman chair review.
